This material's original purpose was to protect passersby from falling debris at construction sites. Rather than become non-biodegradable waste, construction site material is being repurposed to manufacture these trendsetting bags. The bags and wallets are made by a nonprofit organization in Cambodia that employs disadvantaged women and supports local and international organizations that fight human trafficking, abuse against women and children, and substance abuse in Southeast Asia. It is estimated that more than 1 million people are trafficked annually throughout the world, just behind gun trafficking, and tied with the value of drug trafficking.
